Diamonds are multi-faceted too.

Diamonds are multi-faceted too.

Apr 07, 2023

We’ve been brought up to choose what we want to be when we grow up.
Have you grown up yet? I haven’t!

If you have more than two interests and careers under your belt of experience, welcome to the world of #multipotentialites — people who have multiple potentials or talents, interests and are willing to pursue them. We used to look like the ‘wrong ones’ the Jack of all trades, but it turns out - mastery is built on this too.

@emiliewapnick describes this brilliantly in her TED talk. I call us multi-faceted. It's the same thing šŸ˜‰

We are now in a time where we can do anything we want. Many interpret that as: you can choose from as many dishes on the menu as you can eat.

It means something else: You can create your own cuisine by mixing your unusual ingredients.

#multipotentialite is a born innovator because you have experience and neural pathways in different fields that you can combine for a unique new way of doing things in any chosen field.

In the book Mastery, @robertgreeneofficial describes the path of historical figures like Einstein, Darwin, Mozart, Henry Ford, and the path he describes is one of many interests, intense study and breaking free of the teacher to develop one’s own take inspired by the many influences that come together.

That is a multipotentialite 1:1!

If you haven’t yet decided what kind of coach you are, what type of business you really should pursue, or what career path will finally take off. Fret not. Take a step back and allow yourself to integrate your entire experience.

Find a mentor and coach who can hold a multi-faceted human like you in all their sides so you can experience your full diamond brilliance. Diamonds are multi-faceted, too, you know. That’s what makes them so shiny.
