Fake it till you make it?

To create a reality you haven’t experienced yet, we are often taught to “fake it till you make it”. I’m a sucker for authenticity and being real.

Yes, even when I performed as a Madonna tribute, that was true. It was really me doing a Madonna tribute, not faking to be Madonna hoping to become Madonna. Wouldn’t that just be MADgeness?

“Fake it till you make it” invites you to pretend to be someone you’re not. That feels twisted for me. When you become ‘that person’ - do you have to leave your current ‘you’ behind for that?

“Fake it till you make it” is based on the idea that you are not enough right now. I will stand against that. You are enough. More than enough.

Faking it is a cheap version of creation.

The process of creation is honourable and involves making something out of nothing and shaping that something into that which you want.

Find your version of you that already lived out the potential reality of your success playing out well. And take her/him back to the now in your mind. Borrow from your future. That’s cool, time-bending stuff.

The fact is there are many potential realities and as a flexible system you can feel that. Without having to play out all potential realities, you are absolutely permitted to choose one that serves you (and ideally others too) and establish it - sow its seeds into the now.

“Fake it till you make it” denies the beautiful truth of who you are. You are multipotential. You are the greatness you feel inside! You are worthy of the success you are creating. Go out and serve. Everyone wins.
