Are you caught in your habits and structures?

The top tip against addiction/bad habits is to stay away from them. TV addiction is best served with no TV. Ban Netflix. Restrict screen time and call yourself healed.

In other words, controlling our external environment looks like we are taking care of the issue.

And it is one way of taking care.

But it’s also a way of avoiding the real treasure.

When you can see the structure of addiction or habit - you can also understand that it’s not YOU who is “off” or “wrong” or “weak” or “not good enough”.

Structures have movement in them. The water runs through the river bed, not at random.

So, the pathways in your brain are riverbeds for the flow of your actions.

Bad habits are not all your fault-they are what happens when the pathways, aka riverbed, are deep.

So how do you change them? You can pull yourself up by your bootstraps and discipline yourself to change.

I think are way too tough on ourselves.
I say love yourself out of the pain.

Get off that idea that you're bad. You're not. Let's add some love here. Let's build reserves, personal power and willingness to do something loving FOR yourself. That's how you make changes that feel good.
